The Microsoft Dynamics NAV server is currently not ready to serve requests. Try again later or contact your system administrator.

Error Message:

The Microsoft Dynamics NAV server is currently not ready to serve requests. Try again later or contact your system administrator.

Problem Statement:

System returns above error message when you try to Connect to NAV Database and Stops the Running service.

Solution: 

Open SQL Management

Go to Security -> Logins -> find the login used by the NAV Server (e.g. Network Service) -> Properties -> User Mapping -> find the database and select db_owner in the "Database role membership".

  1. I have the same problem on a PC running W 7 sp1 and I do not understand what you mean by Open SQL Management ??

  2. This is also a problem when using windows server 2012 std R2 and ASP.NET 3.5 is not installed. Some components require 3.5 alongside 4.5.2. Trust me. Hours of searching and trial and error!

    Received this error trying to set up Navision 2016 Demo instalk.

    The above setting suggestion was already completed but I found that Database Role Membership under the Databases > 'Database name' > Security > Users > NT AUTHOIRTY\Network Service (or applicable) was not set to DBO

    This resolved the issue
